Sexual violence on campus is a pressing problem across the county and in our local community. CONTACT’s Campus Advocate serves Marshall University (Huntington and Mid-Ohio Valley Center), Mountwest Community and Technical College, Southern WV Community and Technical College, and any other institution of higher learning in Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, Mingo, and Wayne counties, working closely with faculty, staff, and students to spread awareness and help ensure a learning environment free from sexual violence and stalking in accord with Federal Title IX legislation.
In addition to a variety of class presentations, CONTACT staff regularly collaborate with campus organizations on programs such as new student orientation, Take Back the Night, and RAINN Day; national month-long awareness campaigns focusing on Campus Safety (September), Domestic Violence (October), Stalking (January), Dating Violence (February) and Sexual Assault (April); plus job, health, and resource fairs.
